I find myself getting into the situation that creativity enters my mind, inspiration flows and fades away and fades back in and all I want to do is draw a draft. But can’t. Photoshop and Illustrator are easy to use with a Graphic Tablet, though rather the second step.
Moleskine is not really for me since pages are way too small to draw on, I think. I find myself scaling the inspiration down to fit the page, but details get lost and so does the whole image.
In German, you say “ins Blaue hinein” to draw something that is awefully incomplete but has the touch of future beauty. And that is what I need. No paper border limit. No restrictions.
So I find myself wondering if something like a “handicraft box” fits my needs?
You know, a simple box, we used to use sth like that for Art at school called “Kunstkasten”, it contained pens and felt tips and pencils and ruler and rubber and watercolour and brushes and scissors and glue and similar stuff. It was extended with coloured cardboard or the materials we used to build something. But it was our basic box to get started.
I need such a box to finally get started. With pens in it and paper and cardboard and glue and maybe wax crayons because I loved those pretty much. Only seeing the tools you could use in combination with the materials pushed your creativity.
Sometimes it’s not so easy to put your creative thoughts (which are only visualized in mind and untouchable) into something others can look at.
Sometimes I wish I could take a picture of my mind and start building upon it.
(or, I’m thinking of an iPad app with the ability to draw and put stuff in, like a collage, with pictures, but all done with fingertips. So you can swap and switch and slide and do all of this pretty fast, like creativity flows pretty fast in your head sometimes.)
